A choose your own story adventure that started as a re-write of the matrix from memory but evolved. I wanted to create an interactive story reminiscent of choose your own story books where you had to flip through a book.
This hides all of the page flipping for the reader, but underneath there is a branching structure that tracks every choice made throughout the story. I spent a lot of time writing the narrative and mapping out all the possible branches to make sure each path felt complete rather than a dead end.
The terminal aesthetic came naturally from the matrix re-write origin — monospace text and a dark screen felt right for the mood. Keeping the interface minimal meant the writing had to carry the experience on its own.
